USPS Hosts Recruitment Drive Across Pennsylvania; Including Reading PA
The United States Postal Service is conducting job fairs in Reading, Lansdale, Doylestown, and Pottstown in Pennsylvania from November 14 to 17, each running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. These events are part of USPS's initiative to recruit new employees and will feature USPS personnel providing information about various available positions. The fairs are open to individuals who are 18 years or older.
Olympic Aspirations: How a Reading Boxer is Fighting His Way to Paris
Maximiliano Baez III, a 19-year-old boxer from Reading, is preparing for the Olympic trials with hopes of joining Team USA in Paris. His boxing journey began in 2017 at Star City Boxing, helping him transform from a troubled youth into a disciplined athlete. Baez emphasizes the mental and spiritual aspects of his preparation, crediting his faith for recent personal and athletic developments. His path to the Olympics, initially unexpected, is now a source of inspiration and dedication, reflecting his growth under the guidance of his coaches and community.
Reading’s Winter Wonderland:
Free Ice Skating Sessions Begin
at Santander Arena
Reading's Winter Wonderland Free Ice Skating event is returning to Santander Arena. This community-focused, free event, organized by the city and the Reading Royals, offers ice skating experiences and free skate rentals with registration.
The event, which drew over a thousand participants last season, is part of the city's growing holiday traditions. Mayor Morán encourages residents to enjoy both the event and the local restaurants. The skating sessions, spread across various dates and times, will run from November 17 through January.
Eagles-Chiefs Rivalry Renewed:
Super Bowl Rematch Set for
Monday Night Showdown
In the upcoming Monday Night Football game, the Philadelphia Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII. Initially seen as underdogs, the Eagles confront a Chiefs team with a strong 7-2 season record.
The matchup is intriguing, especially given the Eagles' history of losses against teams led by their former coach, Andy Reid. While the Chiefs' solid defense and Patrick Mahomes' prowess pose significant challenges, the Eagles' powerful pass rush could exploit the Chiefs' weaker offensive line, setting the stage for a potentially riveting game.
Kutztown's Unbeaten Streak
Leads to Third Consecutive
NCAA Tournament Entry
The Kutztown University Women's Soccer team has qualified for the NCAA Division II championships, marking their third consecutive appearance.
Despite not winning the PSAC tournament, their season was distinguished by an impressive undefeated run until the league semifinals. As the 2nd seed in the Atlantic Region, they are scheduled to play against 7th seed Concord, a team they have historically defeated in all four past encounters since 2010. The match is set for 6 p.m. this Friday.
