Bear Creek Mountain Resort, nestled in Longswamp Township, Berks County, has opened its slopes to skiers and snowboarders for the Christmas season. Despite encountering weather-related challenges, including significant setbacks due to last month's rain, the resort has shown remarkable resilience. Under the leadership of Gary Kline, the Director of Marketing, the team at Bear Creek has been steadfast in their efforts to maximize the season's potential.

Kline conveyed the resort's unwavering resolve to remain open as long as the conditions permit, with the hope of expanding the available terrain as temperatures become more conducive. Presently, Bear Creek has arranged its operating hours to cater to winter sports enthusiasts, staying open until 9 p.m. on Monday and planning to reopen from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday. This schedule is designed to offer visitors ample opportunity to indulge in their favorite winter activities.

The successful opening of Bear Creek Mountain Resort this holiday season is a clear display of the team's dedication to delivering a festive and enjoyable experience for all visitors, despite weather challenges. The resort's commitment to the enjoyment of winter sports enthusiasts is evident in its efforts to ensure that the slopes are accessible for a memorable and joyful holiday experience.

A Night of Comedy with Missy Hall at SoulJoel's Home for The Holidays Series

SoulJoel's Comedy Club is set to host an entertaining evening with their "Home for The Holidays Series" featuring the "Ladies Night" event. On Wednesday, December 27th, the doors of the club will open at 6 pm for a show starting at 7 pm. The event, taking place inside SunnyBrook at SoulJoel’s, promises a night filled with laughter and good vibes.

Headlining the night is Missy Hall, also known as the "Queen of Happy Things." Missy is not only a talented comedian but also a breast cancer survivor, an actress, and a motivational speaker. Her unique style, which combines wit with relatable content, has garnered acclaim nationwide. Her comedy album "Miss Representation" was considered for a Grammy, and her other works like “Fifty Shades of Fifty” have achieved impressive streaming numbers. Her latest album, "Scoot Up," is currently featured on Sirius XM radio.

Missy Hall is renowned for her involvement in national touring shows such as “Women of a Certain Age” and “Ladies of Laughter.” She has also made notable appearances in the “Best of the Fest” at the 2019 Burbank Comedy Festival and was a finalist in the 2018 Big Sky Comedy Festival. Her acting skills are as diverse as her comedy, with experiences ranging from films to musicals. Missy's philosophy revolves around spreading happiness, which she believes is best achieved through comedy. However, her love for dogs, naps, and casual comfort might rival her passion for humor.

The event offers both general admission and VIP tickets, priced at $20 and $30, respectively. It's an opportunity for the local community of Pottstown, PA, to gather at 50 SunnyBrook Road and enjoy an evening of laughter and entertainment. The show also features performances by Maureen Ferguson and Karen Schwarz, adding to the night's allure.

Philadelphia Eagles End Losing Streak with Win Over New York Giants

Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants 33-25, keeping their NFC East title hopes alive. Jalen Hurts led the team with a record-breaking rushing touchdown and a total of 301 passing yards. The Eagles overcame turnovers and a demanding home crowd, improving their record to 11-4.

Miami Heat Clinch Christmas Victory Over 76ers 119-113,

Despite Star Absences

The Miami Heat defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 119-113 in a Christmas contest, despite the absence of key players Joel Embiid from the 76ers and Jimmy Butler from the Heat. Rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. led Miami with 31 points, achieving his first double-double, and Bam Adebayo contributed significantly with 26 points and 15 rebounds. The victory marked a notable achievement for Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, who now has a 9-0 record on Christmas Day, the best in NBA history for a head coach on this holiday. The 76ers, missing Embiid due to an ankle sprain, struggled with shooting, particularly from Tyrese Maxey. Despite the challenges, Miami held a strong lead, especially in rebounds, and managed to secure the win in this high-stakes holiday game.
